HTML Writer - Possible Future Enhancements

Note: that the program is not under active development at the moment (Jan 2003).

• Better trapping of errors such as file not found.
• Take parameters from Windows Explorer to allow right click edit on web pages to jump straight into the correct page. Also allow drag and drop.
• Add an option to cancel the operation on the "Do you want to save the file" alert box.
• Deal with the situation of two copies of the program trying to edit the same file.
• An option to edit style sheets ".css" whist viewing a target HTML page.
• Get it to work better online. At the moment, if you go online then the browser opens the window ok, but the editor displays a blank screen?
• Allow a small white margin at the left of the edit window to allow select of the whole line.
• Add a facility to be able to go direct to a line number - this would aid finding HTMLTIDY errors.

• A syntax checker for HTML by calling the Freeware program HTMLTIDY directly from the editor.
• Add a spell checker which understands HTML tokens (and ignores them).
