Well that last test took a while. It is now reported that it has gone to production and will be available on April 29th. SP2 came out as a CD widely available in retail stores for free, very convenient as it was large. Perhaps now broadband is more widespread they won't bother. I am keen on it because installing SP2 cleared up a lot of lingering problems with my system and perhaps this will do the same.
