The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.piratpartiet.se\/international\/\">Piratpartiet<\/a> (Pirate Party) has <a href=\"http:\/\/riskman.typepad.com\/perilocity\/2009\/06\/pirate-party-legitimized-by-winning-eu-parliament-seat.html\">gained one seat<\/a> in the European Parliament. They <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elections2009-results.eu\/en\/sweden_en.html#ancre1\">polled 7.1% of the vote in Sweden<\/a> on a manifesto of Copyright Freedom and protest of the conviction of the Pirate Bay organisers earlier in the year. Their platform is not &#8220;make everything free&#8221; but more a call to consider the rights and needs of all the people, particularly in regard to Intellectual Property such as Copyright &#038; Patents.
