Renunciation

[This is the Renounce of Catherine White of any claim to the goods of her late Mother Catherine White, who died in 1788.]

[Catherine White (Senior) being the Widow of Nathan White.They married 25th.July 1753 at St.Just in Penwith. She being Catherine Matthews before marriage.She was buried on the 4th.of May 1788 at St.Just in Penwith.No will being made.]

Know All Men by these presents,That I Catherine White of the Parish of Saint Just in the County of Cornwall Spinster the lawfull Daughter and only child of Catherine White late of the same Parish/ Widow deceased/ for diverse good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have renounced relingquished quitted Claim and refused and by these presents Do renounce relinquish, quitt claim and refuse to take upon me the Burthen of the Administration of the Goods and Chattles, Debts, Rights, Credits and Effects of my said Mother Catherine White deceased And I do hereby desire that the Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattles Debts, Rights, Credits and Effects of my said Mother deceased may be committed and granted to Elizabeth Matthews of the parish of Morvah in the said County Widow And that this my said renunciation may have its Due Effect, I do hereby authorise and appoint John Wallis Gentleman one of the Proctors of the Archdeconry Court of Cornwall or any other Proctor of the same court to Exhibit the same pray the same may be admitted accordingly.

In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Seventeenth day of May in twentyeighth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight.

In the name of God Amen. I William White the Elder of the parish of St.Just in Penwith in the County of Cornwall Yeoman being somewhat weak in Body but of sound & disposing mind and memory Thanks be given to God for the same and calling unto mind the mortallity of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all persons once to Die, Do hereby make this my last will and testament in manner and form following. That is to say. First and principally I recommend my Soul unto the Hands of Almighty God that gave it Me nothing doubting but to receive the same again at the general Day of the Resurrection in and thro the merits of my Blessed Redeemer Jesus Christ. my Body Recommended to the Earth to have a decent Christian Burial according to the discretion of my Executor herein afternamed and as touching such Wordly Effects wherewith God hath been pleased to bless me with in this life I hereby Give and Bequeave as follows.

Impr. I hereby Will order and give to my dearly beloved Wife Mary White the use of my Hall and Hall Chamber in my House that I now --- [?], in the Geva, with free passage to the same during her natural life but not to be Lett, nor Sell to any person in the meantime.

Also I hereby ------[?] back and give to my said Wife and to her Executors Adms. and Assigns All the Household Furniture of what sort they be that was her own formerly, and which was with Her in Marriage with Six ----[?] of ------[?] Yearly out of the Gever Land with three -----[?] of Turf Yearly to be Cutt in a Croft commonly called Thomas Noys"s Croft.

Also I hereby Give my said Wife five pounds Yearly and every Year during her natural life payable out of my Lands in the Gever by equal and even quarterly payments in case my present estate shall therein so long continue free of all Reprizals or outgoings whatsoever with Liberty of Entry Distress ans Sale thereof in case of non payment Thirty Days after each quarter Day is past, as by Act of Parliament, is such case hath hitherto directed, which said Yearly Annuity and other Gifts herein before mentioned is to be, -----[?], rest, and remain as a full and absolute Barr, against all her Claim Right of Dower or thirds at common llaw She might have or claim to have to any other of my Effects wherewith I shall be possessed, Seized off or in any way Intitules unto at the Day of my Death.

Also, I hereby Give and Bequeave to my Son in Law Walter Bolitho, All my Leasehold Estate in the Gever aforsaid and to his Executors Admns and Assigns during the Remainder of any term therein to come and Expire Subject nevertheless to the Yearly Annuity as aforesaid with part of the House as afores. The Gever Lane or Gate Field is also excepted out of this last Gift promised.

Also I hereby Give and Bequeave to my Son in Law John Williams and to his Executors Admns and Assigns All that Moiety of Land in Trewellard formerly called Thomas Noys’s Land during the Remainder of my Term therein to come and determine, Together with the aforesaid Gever Lane or Gate Field, during the Term therein to come and Determine.

Also I hereby Will Order and Direct that all and whatsoever Moneys I shall Owe or be indebted to any person whatsoever at the Day of my Death lett it be Obligatory promisary or etherwise/my Mortgage of Trewellard only excepted/ That my abovesaid two Son in Laws Walter Bolitho and John Williams shall pay off and Discharge the same equally between them share and share alike, and I hereby Subject the abovesaid Lands to the payment thereof.

Also The Cattle and the forty ----[?] Hay, that shall be on the Gever or Noys Tenement at the Day of my Death/Five Truse being first excepted thersoat for my Son William/ I hereby Give to my aforesaid two Son in Laws equally between them. The Gentle Heiffer and the Bull being also excepted to the Use of my Son William.

Lastly All the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Leasehold Estates in Trewellard, or Elsewhere, Like StockmGoods, Chattles, Bills, Bonds Notes Accounts/ My own Household Goods, being first equally divided between my said two Son in Laws to whome I give the same/That I shall be Possessed Seized off or any way intituled unto at the Day of my Death and not therein before given/ I hereby Give Devise and Bequeave to my said Son William White. He paying off my abovesaid mortgage and ffuneral charges Whome I hereby also constitute make and appoint whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament in witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my Hand and Seal the Thirteenth Day of November in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Seven.

This is the Last Will and Testament of me Nicholas White of Bojewyon in the parish of St.Just in Penwith in the County of Cornwall, Mine Agent, made when of sound and disposing memory and understanding praise be to the Almighty god for the same.

I give devise and bequeath All and Singular my lands Tenements and premises Goods Chattles and Effects whatsoever both real and personal unto my dear wife Jane, to hold the same during her natural life,and after her decease all the above said Tenements, premises, Goods Chattles and Effects is to be Equally divided between my six sons as follows. Viz Nicholas, William, Richard, Henry, James and Thomas and if Either of them dies under the age of twenty one years his part is to fall to the rest of his surviving bretheren to be equally divided--- my son John Excepted as I have already provided for him.

Also all the rest residue and remainder of my Goods Chattles Right Credits and Effects whatsoever I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof to my said wife Jane Whom I hereby nominate and appoint as th whole and sole Executrix of this my will, and I also appoint My son John Thomas White and Andrew Stevens of Carferry in Gulval to be the Guardians and Trustees over my younger Children during their Minority.

In witness whereof I have to this my Will written on one half sheet of paper subscribed and set my hand and seal this Fifth day of November one thousand eight hundred and twenty three.

In the Name of God Amen, I Nicholas White Black Smith in the Parish of St.Just in Penwith County of Cornwall, being of sound and disposing mind & Memory do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. first and Principally I recommend my soul to God who gave it, & my Body I commit to the Earth, to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executor herein after named, and as to Such Wordly Estate as God of his great goodness hath bestowed upon me, I give and dispose thereof as follows, that is to say—

First I give to my son Richard White that Leasehold Estate in Tregeseal which was enjoyed byJane Williams,—

Also, I give to my son William White the sum of five pounds of Lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid him twelve months after my decease by my Executor herein after named.

Also, I give to my daughter Honer Warren, Six pounds a Year is she should be left a Widow, & as long as she Continue the same, out of my Estate in the Tenement of Trewellard, Also I give her husband William Warren one Shilling.

Also I give to my two sons Nicholas, & Henery White all that part of the land in Tregeseal with the Appertenances thereunto belonging, that was formerly occupied by Robert James and James Williams.—Also I give Nicholas White a Lease for three lives of his nomination ot the one Moiety of the House, Land and Premisses in Trewellard now occupied by Thomas Woolcock.

Also, I give to Nicholas White & Henry White one Thirtyeth part to each of them in Pariknoweth Tin Mine together with the like share of Metorials there unto belonging.

Also, I give to my son John White the sum of ten pounds of Lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid him Twelve Months after my decease by my Executor.

Also, I give my Grandaughter Mary White Warren the daughter of William Warren the sum of five pounds at the age of fourteen years, for her to be taught a Taylor or Mantumaker [?].

Also, I give my son Nathan White the House, Garden, Barn, Stable, Shilter and together with three closes of land adjoining to the House, which I now live in with liberty for my two sons Nicholas & Henry White to Trach the Corn in the said Barn—Also give to my son Nathan White the one third part of the Enclosed Downs in Tregeseal.

Also, I give my son Nathan White all my Freehold Estate in the Tenement of Trewellard being by Computation one third of the one Moiety of Trewellard aforesaid, together with the like share of all the farm dues of all Tin, Copper and all other Mittals, or Minerals of what nature or kindsoever, which said son Nathan White I do hereby constitute and appoint my Executor of this my last will and Testament, Making all other wills by me made void. I do before the Sealing and dilivery of this my last will and Testament make over and give the one third of the Moiety of the Tenement in Trewellard unto my son Nathan White, & to the male heirs of his body for ever. In witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my Hand & Seal this Eighteenth day of August 1825.

The last Will and Testament of William White Senr. of Trewellard in the Parish of Saint Just in the County of Cornwall.

First I give and bequeath to Mary my beloved Wife whome I likewise constitute make and ordain the sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament all and singular My Effects, Goods, and Chattles, of whatsoever name or denomination they may be called, by Her freely to be possessed and enjoyed, only to pay to each of my five Children the sum of one shilling, respectively, three months next after my decease, satisfying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Seventh day of February One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty one.

This the last Will and Testament of me Mary White of Trewellard in the Parish of St.Just in Penwith in the County of Cornwall.

First, I give and bequeath unto my Son William White one large Silver Table Spoon immediately after my death.

Also, I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary the Wife of John Johns of the said parish of St.Just Miner one Small Silver Table Spoon, immediately after my death.

Also, I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann the Wife of Edmund Trembath of the said parish of St.Just, one Silver Punch ladel, immediately after my death.

Also, I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth the Wife of Capt. John Grenfall of the said parish of St.Just Mine Agent, one Silver Sugar Tongs, immediately after my death.

Also Lastly, All the rest Residue and remainder of all my Goods Chattles and Effects Including all my Annuity or Rent charge that I now hold by virtue of a Covenant from Mr.Nathan White during the life of William Bolitho. I give and bequeath to my daughter Margery, whome I do hereby nominate and appoint whole and sole Executrix and Residuary Legatee of this my last Will and Testament. She paying and discharging all my just Debts and Funeral Charges, and I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made.

In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament Subscribed my name and affixed my seal this Fifteenth day of December in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty five.
