Census online on this site. I also have an assortment of Strays.

A good summary of what can be found in each census is on the [Off Site]GENDOCS Census site. The official custodians of the census are the [Off Site]National Archives but it is no longer possible to inspect the books. They have [Off Site]subcontracted the online data to various agencies which is now the only way to see them. The indexes are available but there will be a fee to see the images.

The country wide indexes available with pay-to-view images are as follows:—

[Off Site]1901 Census Online The official site.

[Off Site]1911 Census The official site operated by [Off Site]Find My Past.

1881

Sunday 3 April PRO RG11/2339 to 2351

This is published on 35mm microfilm. Some research facilities including the CSL have a copy.

[YES] It is available as a full transcript and index on CD-ROM and now also online from the [Off Site]Family Search organisation of the LDS Church. This was a 12 year project undertaken in collaboration with the FFHS. England, Scotland & Wales comes on 24 CDROMs, but the South West can be purchased separately. The online version is complete, but not so easy to search.

A separate name index by county was produced by the LDS in association with the FFHS on microfiche, presumably as an earlier product of the same project, and can be found in some research facilities including the CRO, CSL & CFHS HQ (the latter have the whole of England and Wales).

[YES] Archive CD Books have have published the 1881 Census for Cornwall in high quality facsimile on CDROM (2004) for the Registration Districts of St. Austell, Truro and Falmouth ONLY.

Advance orders are being taken for images on CD-ROM by [Off Site]British Data Archive (part of S & N Genealogy), Salisbury but they say that it will only be produced if there is sufficient demand.

A project to transcribe the whole of the Cornwall 1881 census for free internet access has now been completed. See the [Off Site]Cornwall Online Census Project for more information. This data is also available in the [Off Site]FreeCEN database.
